In this case maybe use your container/webserver url rewriting facilities
in conjunction with clean urls. e.g. for mod_rewrite on apache :-
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/home/$
RewriteRule (.*)/home/(.*) $1/action/home/$2 [L,R=301]
the only pain i find with this setup is you have to have apache in front
of your dev server when testing as well or links won't work.
