Intel ramps up support for Linux in Asia

"Intel has released its Quick Start Kit for Linux, stepping up support for Asian system integrators that offer Linux-based desktop PCs.

The Quick Start Kit for Linux is similar to software kits that Intel makes available for system integrators that build PCs designed to run Microsoft's (Profile, Products, Articles) Windows operating system, said Scott McLaughlin, a spokesman for Intel. "We are starting to extend what we've done in the Windows world to include the Linux space," he said."

And what about in the rest of the world, like, say, the United States, huh? They don't give half of a rotting crap about Linux, they just see that the rest of the world (Asia specifically in this case) is going to Linux and if they don't do something they're going to lose out enormously. Screw Intel. They're not an option for me when buying chips, not that their crappy overpriced chips are very tempting. AMD isn't much better as a company, but, unfortunately, there are not a plethora of alternatives. Anything but Intel though.
